Kulture Break Development Academy (KBDA)
After a three year absence, KBDA will compete at this year%u2019s Canberra Groove finals on Oct 16th held at Stromlo High school we wish them all the best in their preparations.

WHAT IS KBDA?

KBDA stands for Kulture Break Development Academy. It is a performing arts environment for young people across the territory and state that aims to provide a training ground for the next generation of cutting edge performers, choreographers and leaders in our community.


WHAT IS INFUSION?

Infusion is an initiative under the KBDA that is designed to provide opportunities for young people to develop their dance skills and themselves in a positive environment that fosters a spirit of excellence and empowers them to win in life.

INFUSION is not a dance school and you don't need to be enrolled in class a Kulture Break class to join. Dancers everywhere including studios, school institutions, and dance groups are welcome to apply.


As part of Infusion each dancer will be given the opportunity to perform in memorable events, and learn and work with professional choreographers, performers and technicians in the business. INFUSION MAJOR PROJECTS 2010

Kulture Break's mission is to influence a culture and to empower a generation;

  1. KB Dreams Expo (May 28th -29th) - Erindale Theatre An interpretation of socially impacting issues which affects the wider community.

  2. Express Yourself- Choreographers Iniatitive (TBC)

  3. Project Dance (Oct 8-10th ) Sydney
  4. Christmas Production (December 12th) A production choreographed and presented by the KBDA members, providing an opportunity for young dancers to be involved in the process of expression of their own artistic works and show production.

AUDITIONS

The KBDA conducts auditions for each season. Audition dates and eligibility requirements are listed below

AUDITION ELIGIBILITY

  • Dancers must be a minimum of 16yrs - 30yrs of age by the end of the current year to be eligible for the KBDA infusion program.
  • Dancers under the age of 18yrs must have signed parental permission to be eligible
  • Dancers must be able to fully commit to training, rehearsals and performances for the entire season.

PREPARATION REQUIREMENTS

Each applicant must prepare a 30 sec solo piece prior to arrival to auditions and fill out an application form: click here to download.

INFUSION FEES


 $740.00 annually for your Infusion training and exclusive workshops.

Half season also available.

A deposit of $100 must be paid and accompany letter of acceptance at the first training session.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL

  • Have a great attitude to learning
  • Be passionate about Dance
  • Possess vital skills in dance (e.g. rhythm & control)
  • Be able to commit fully to attend scheduled weekly training sessions
  • Be able to compete in events and perform in show cases
